Alfonso and his siblings found the strength to stay together and protect each other from the physical and emotional abuse they suffered living with various family members after their father killed their mother. Alfonso now happily lives with an aunt and uncle and is active in his school and community. He wants to follow in the footsteps of his siblings, who are also SRA students; his sister Kimberly recently graduated from UC Berkeley; and his brother Jose is attending New York’s Manhattenville. Alfonso was accepted to Ohio Wesleyan University.
