Amily He
Amily was the only member of her family to speak fluent English when they emigrated from China to the US several years ago. When a major domestic violence situation disrupted her life, she called 911 for help and has served as the family interpreter for her mother during the subsequent legal proceedings. Faced with increasing financial and emotional pressure, Amily became a math tutor, and helped her mom learn English to get a job. Amily is eager to continue her education and is looking forward to attending Harvard University.
