Andrea Williams was the Student Body President of Balboa High School in her senior year and she wants to be the first in her family to go to college. Her mother told her it doesn't matter where you come from because if you want to do it, you can achieve anything.

Living in a tough neighborhood in San Francisco, Andrea has seen constant violence. Her cousin was shot and killed two years ago on a Muni bus. Overcoming his death was extremely hard, but she continued to keep her grades up. Most importantly, Andrea uses his memory as a source of motivation. Andrea will attend UC Davis in the fall.
