Drakzin Wangmo

Drakzin is a Tibetan refugee who moved from India to the U. S. in December 2005. Living in a small apartment, her family struggles to make ends meet. In only a little over three years, Drakzin has made amazing progress in learning English and in immersing herself in American culture. Today, Drakzin has achieved a 3.7 GPA and is actively involved in organizations including Enterprise for High School Students and Summer Search. She also takes care of her sister, who has Down's syndrome. Drakzin aspires to become a doctor or a nurse in order to learn more about her sister's condition. She will attend Mount Holyoke.
