Vania is the daughter of hearing impaired parents. Growing up, Vania learned both English and American Sign Language, and has taken care of her mom, who also suffers from cerebral palsy. One night, Vania’s life abruptly changed forever when her father attacked her mom. Vania and her mother were forced to relocate to a different city to ensure their safety. Education has proven to be Vania’s salvation and she wants to attend college to become a professional Sign Language interpreter. She will attend CSU Northridge in the fall.
