Billy Kopeikin
Billy has always had to scramble. He was just seven years old when he and his brother learned to fend for themselves. Their parents were abusive and they sometimes found themselves living on the streets.
“There are days that I remember more clearly than others. There was the night sleeping on the steps of the Post Office, watching my dad do jumping jacks to stay warm in the snow. There was the night when my dad was held at gunpoint after one of his drug deals had gone bad. Most clearly, there was the night that my dad gave up raising me. Instead, he dropped me off to live with my mom in San Mateo.”
Life was still difficult for Billy at his mom’s –the drugs, alcohol, and verbal abuse still continued. It wasn’t until Billy was taken in by a family whose instincts told them he needed a break that things changed.
Billy found opportunity with his good grades and renewed focus while in high school. After graduating in 2001 from Aragon High School in San Mateo, Billy attended and graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Management and a minor in Economics.
Billy joined Wells Fargo upon graduation and is currently a Business Analyst on the Product Management Team for Wells Fargo's Wealth Management Group. His team is responsible for finding and developing products to help their internal financial consultants and advisors more efficiently and effectively serve customers.
“I have intentions to either go to Law School, Business School, earn my CFA charter or a combination of the three. I would also like to eventually get married, have children and possibly get another dog. I am very happy with the fact that I have been able to get to this point. More importantly, I am happy with my outlook for the future. I know that I have a strong foundation for any one of my next moves in life”.
